Toronto Festivals To Attend In August

Every month there is a long list of festivals and events in Toronto to keep you busy. And better yet, there’s something for everyone. August is the last month of summer holidays (although, the summer fun more often than not continues into September), and if you don’t have any plans to go away or need to something to fill a few unplanned weekends, there are tons going on this month.

We decided to help by creating a list of activities to check out this month before the kids go back to school or before you start getting into fall-mode.

Toronto Food Truck Festival | Friday, August 3 to Monday, August 6

Enjoy this long weekend with the Toronto Food Truck Festival returning to Woodbine Park! Featuring over 30 food trucks from across the city, you won’t leave this festival hungry! There will also be plenty of live performances and activities happening around the park, so it will be the perfect family outing this weekend! The funds raised through this fantastic event will be donated to the Possibilities Fund, supporting the highest priority needs at SickKids.

Taste Of The Danforth | Friday, August 10 to Sunday, August 12

One of Canada’s largest festivals is back for its 25th anniversary! For 25 years, Greektown has opened its streets for people to roam and enjoy all that the Greek community has to offer. With food and music, you will be fully immersed in Greek culture. Danforth Avenue from Broadview to Jones will be closed to pedestrians only for the entire weekend, so be sure to plan accordingly!

Cider Festival | Friday, August 24 & Saturday, August 25

Winner of the Best Festival Award last year, Toronto Cider Festival will be bringing together over 100 kinds of cider from all across Ontario and around the world. This event will be held at Sherbourne Common, right on Toronto’s beautiful waterfront. With so many cider options available, you can even find a few types of cider from across our areas of service as well!

Beer, Bourbon and BBQ | Friday, August 24 to Sunday, August 26

Fire up the BBQ and visit Ontario Place for one of the summer’s biggest festivals. Presented by Taste Toronto, you will be able to enjoy craft beers while listening to live country music, line dancing and riding a mechanical bull! Be sure to pass by some of the bourbon tasting bars with specialty cocktails to accompany some great tasting bbq!

Buskerfest | Friday, August 31 to Monday, September 3

This annual event is spontaneous and outrageous, filled with various street performers that are one-of-a-kind entertainment. Buskerfest will be taking place over the Labour Day long weekend at the end of the month, which will also be happening in conjunction with this year’s mac and cheese festival! This festival also supports Epilepsy Toronto, and is one of the biggest fundraisers for this organization all year!
