This year, Canada Day looks a little different thanks to COVID-19. In order to keep everyone as safe as possible by not gathering in large crowds, many of our trading areas have prepared virtual events that will allow you to celebrate from the comfort of your home!

Canada Day Virtual Community Celebration – Collingwood

Celebrate Canada Day from Peak to Shore and Straight to Your Home! Join the virtual community celebration from Collingwood to Blue Mountain Village and The Blue Mountains as they Live Stream to your home on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM! 

Blue Mountain Village, the Town of Collingwood and the Town of the Blue Mountains present a regional, virtual Canada Day from Peak to Shore – a safe, pandemic-defying, life-affirming celebration, and tribute to our essential workers and everyday heroes. Vaughan Celebrates Canada Day

Join in the fun as Vaughan celebrates its first-ever virtual Canada Day event presented by Greenpark Group and featuring Barenaked Ladies, July 1, 5-8pm.

 

Tune in to Vaughan.ca/CanadaDay for stellar performances including Kreative In Dance Styles (K.I.D.S.), Mini Pop Kids, Comedian Susan Stewart, The Free Label, and Spin Starlets & Dr. Draw. Festivities also include a Kids’ Corner, celebrity shout-outs, and Official Welcome by Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council and other notable dignitaries, as well as community video montages.

City of Barrie Hosting ‘Canada Day At Home’ Virtual Celebration

 The City of Barrie will host its first virtual “Canada Day At Home” celebration with a lineup of online, interactive family programming. There will be performances by local musicians and a fireworks display using augmented reality.

A full day of fun activities wrapped with a virtual fireworks experience that will be held at 9:30 p.m. Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield leads the final countdown. People can access the experience by downloading an app on their mobile device.

M.I.N.D.E.N Canada Day Photo Contest

Show how you will be celebrating Canada Day this year in true M.I.N.D.E.N style! The Township is hosting a photo contest where the winners will receive a gift certificate to a local Minden business of their choice! Participating is fun and easy to do. Simply pick a category (or categories) from the supplied list, get creative with Canada Day themed ideas, take a photo and submit it, along with a completed Photo Submission form to the Township.  Entries will be judged on creativity, and how they tie in with Canada Day within the chosen category.

Toronto unites online this year for Canada Day. On July 1, join morning, afternoon and evening livestream programs showcasing Toronto’s brightest talent.
