This weekend is the Family Day long weekend, giving you a little extra time to spend with your loved ones. There are plenty of activities throughout our areas of service held specifically to give you things to do with your family to celebrate the holiday. We have come up with a list of events that we are looking forward to attending with our families, and would be great options for you and your loved ones to get out of the house this weekend!
Collingwood February Family Jam
This Family day weekend, the Town of Collingwood has some great activities planned to enjoy a full day of fun together with your family. Proudly presented by the Town of Collingwood, Collingwood Museum, Collingwood YMCA, Curling Club or Collingwood, and Environment Network, this day filled with plenty of family friendly activities will be entirely free! On Monday the 18th, join everyone at Central Park for skating, board games, open gym, curling, and crafts. You can also play some sledge hockey, shinny hockey, or try out some snowshoes! Family Day at the AGO
Express yourself through art this Family Day weekend in Toronto by visiting the Art Gallery of Ontario. This weekend, it’s all about collage! The AGO will be providing space to dance, play, and make art with the entire family. This all-day collage party will allow you to explore the AGO and take part in different creative activities. The different spaces throughout the AGO will host their own craft spaces, dance parties, and quiet rooms, so there is somewhere for everyone. The spot to visit is the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School, where you can create a collage with your family by combining several mixed mediums to bring home a stellar new artwork that will have a little bit of the entire family in it. Snowfest in The County
Visit Sandbanks’ Maple Rest Heritage House this weekend for a day filled with fun activities featuring the massive amount of snow that we have received recently. There will be cross-country skiing, tobogganing and snowshoeing in Sandbanks Provincial Park, a roaring bonfire at the Maple Rest, and this year’s special event, costumed historical re-enactors presenting the story of French explorer Samuel de Champlain. At Maple Rest Heritage House, you can find hot chocolate, marshmallows, tourtiere and home-made baked beans to keep you warm throughout the day. Visit their event page for more information.
Bundle up and prepare for a full day of fun at Baysville Winterfest! This Family Day in Muskoka will be jam-packed with family-friendly fun indoors and outdoors. The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast to get you fueled for all of the activities including skating, live entertainment, organized outdoor games, and a comedy show.
